Three Important Japanese Costoms Foreigner Should Know

These days, a lot of foreigners come to Japan. However, they are sometimes comfused with Japanese behavior, since Japanese customs are very different from their own customs. So, I recommend knowing three particular customsto foreigners who are going to visit japan. These three points will help them to understand and grasp Japanese feeling. First, learning Japanese way of living is important. At home, people take off their shoes and directly sit down or lie down on the floor without chairs or bed. When first meet, they bow to each other or shake hands instead of hugging each other. Second, Japanese people are very modest. For instance,when Japanese person gives someone presents, he or she always says, "It's not so interesting." It's may seem strange for foreigners, but it is the Japanese way of giving. Third, another thing to understand is that Japanese people set a high value on the group.InJapanese society,the harmony of the groupis most important. For this reason, most people are careful in words and actions. In addition, Japanese people don't like arguments. It's not wise to insist on ones own idea.These japanese behaviors may be strange for foreigners on a first visit. However,as they learn Japanese customs,they will become interested in Japanese customs more and more, and then, their stay will be something wonderfull.
