Why Do People Lie?

Lying is not good thing. However, people lie often because of various reasons. People often lie in order to be respected by other people. By lying, a person tries to hide his or her own failure and save honor. On the other hand, at other times, someone may lie in the cause of sympathy.For example, if a person is invited to have some tea but he or she doesn't want to go with the person that invited him or her, he or she may say, "I'm very sorry but I can't go with you because of my job." In this way, this person can turn down the proposal politely and avoid hurting the other's feeling. Therefore, it can be said that lying is sometimes for oneself and sometimes for others.

Why should high school students participate in club activities?

Participation in club activities is good for high school students because it helps them develop mentally and physically. First, it is helpful for students with regard to physical development. They will get physically strong with training in clubs. And, by doing basically training and stretching, it is not easy for them to get injured in a physical accident, even in daily life. Second, club activities develop students' minds. During club activities, they learn to stand on one's own feet. They give each other a role to play and must help each other, and they will learn responsibility. More over, they may find what they want to become in the future. One student may perhaps discover he or she wants to be an athlete and another perhaps wants to be a musician. Clubs are good place to practice for the future. Third,students can get social communication skills through participation in clubs. In club activities, students learn how to get along with other people and how to harmonize various opinions. Besides, they learn which attitudes to hold with regard to seniors. These are very important things for living successfully in society. Therefore, club activities make school life rich and teach young people many important things.
